Friends Frame (Kids Class)

Last week I made a sample for my upcoming Kid’s Craft Class at Faithful Scrapper in Kaufman, TX. For this class we will be creating a fun wooden frame.

Friends Frame Kids Class

Materials Needed:
1 wooden frame (Michael’s)
1 color acrylic paint
Sparkle Mod Podge
foam brush(es)
coordinating cardstock
Sizzix Scribbles Swirls Sizzlit Die
Old Book Pages
Spellbinders Scalloped Circles Large
Glimmer Mist (2 coordinating colors)
Locker Talk Cricut Cartridge
Cabuchon Rose (made with Melting Pot- tutorial here)

Step 1: Remove the inner cardstock piece for the frame. Give the frame two coats of paint using your choice of Acrylic Paint. I used True Teal by Apple Barrel Paints.

Step 2: Cut out 3 scalloped circles from an old book. I used Eclipse since I have it laying around from my Immortal Love projects. Spray 2 of the pieces with a light color of Glimmer Mist. I used Purple Pansy. Spray the remaining one with a darker color of Glimmer Mist. I used Fully Purple. Heat set them when a heat gun or just wait for them to dry. Crumble them up and form into a 3 layer flower. Adhere the cabuchon rose on top.

Step 3: Using the Locker Talk Cricut Cartridge, cut out the saying for Friends at 1″ on Real Dial Size using the coordinating cardstock. Also cut the Scribbles Swirls Sizzlit with the same cardstock and adhere all of this on the frame in the lower left corner. Seal over the top with a layer of Sparkle Mod Podge.

Step 4: Attach the book flower to the frame using the swirls as a guide for placement.

VOILA! Instant frame for any decor! 🙂
