Card Challenges Update

This weekend I jumped on challenges and was able to complete a few new cards to share. I will blame this 100% on the fact that Crooked Stamper was jumping all over them this weekend as well and it kind of inspired me! Check out her great cards on her blog as well.

Both of them are from “new to me” blogs: Card Patterns and Sketch Saturday

My first card is from Card Patterns and we were given the following sketch:

I decided to do the sketch exactly as is and use a digital image that I found online and had colored on Friday night just to play around. I saw this and thought it would be perfect to get this UFO off my desk and made into a card.

The next card that I created was using this sketch from Sketch Saturday.

When I started I literally had no clue where I was going with this. I decided I wanted to use a new digital stamp from Melonheadz {grab it and let her know I sent you} that I had just printed out and after I colored it in with Copics, the card just evolved all on it’s own. Literally the colors spoke to me on which scraps to pull out from my stash and then added a bit of twine {also from Crooked Stamper’s Etsy shop} and some bling.

After seeing that she was ready for her morning and holding a coffee cup, I knew that since I am totally not a morning person my sentiment had to be something to that affect. I love how the Typeset Alpha from Close To My Heart (available February 1st for purchase- only $6.95) fit right into the bubble I had cut with the CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge. All of the edges of this card are inked in Broken China.

Totally love them both and have more to share with you later this week!
