For today’s post I wanted to show you how much I have been drawn to this butterfly stamp. I have been using it for a few different cards and love how it looks each and every time.
This butterfly is colored with Bic Mark Its and accented with a Sakura Glaze Pen and Dimensional Pearls. I also inked the edges with my Rusty Hinge Distress Ink Pad and distressed the background with Spiced Maramalade Distress Ink. The lace is from my stash and I accented it with some orange seam binding tape. I love the polka dot background for not only it’s simplicity but also how much it makes the butterfly stand off the page. The cardstock base is a shade of orange that I had available and it worked with the colors. The sentiment is from a retired CTMH stamp set that I got from my friend Claudia. {Thanks hon!}
The second card that I created was in a green monochrome look. I used the same layout, background paper, lace and circle cut from my Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge but made it look a bit different.
For this butterfly I again used the Bic Mark Its Ultra Fine and accented the antennae with the Sakura Glaze Pen. The lower part of the butterfly is also accented with Dimensional Pearls. I used Shabby Shutters Distress Ink to make the background of the butterfly more in line with the monochromatic look. On top of the lace, I ran a thin piece of ribbon that was stitched around twice and tied in a knot under the button. I adhered the button with foam tape to allow the knot to be hidden and then tied it off with some Rustic Twine from Crooked Stamper.
I have put both of these cards up in my Etsy shop and hope to make more in different colors to add to this collection as well.
What have you created today?
