This layout started like no other. I totally had no clue where I was going but once I started I just kept adding until it felt like it was right.
I mounted the pictures on a piece of cardstock and trimmed around the edges to give it no border. I added an accent of a scrap piece from Basic Grey for the top corner piece. I had some leftover strips of the cardstock that I had punched after putting on Tim Holtz Tissue Tape. I adhered it down as a border between the photos and added the excess down at the bottom to call that done.
The corner where the two strips came together needed some embellishing so I added a sticker from October Afternoon, a clear button tied with Peapod twine from The Twinery, a red blingy brad from Paper Accents {Hobby Lobby brand} and a green button brad from CTMH.
I have been enjoying the torn strips of scraps on a lot of layouts that I have seen so I thought I would give my hand at it. I added two strips of Basic Grey and then a partial sticker from October Afternoon that I added a subtitle of the date on with My Minds Eye Lime Twist stickers.
Near the top of my pictures, I decided to embellish with a tab from October Afternoon, two stickers from various sticker sheets, another clear brad with Marashino twine from The Twinery, a red brad and a green sparkly brad tied with Charcoal twine from The Twinery.
I finished up with rotating letter stickers {was trying to use up remnants of my green Thickers} to create the title. I used my Letraset Black marker to create an interesting border as well as the remnant piece from the previous October Afternoon stamp used for the sub-title.
And another last look at the finished layout. I love how it turned out and was able to get the highlights of our day recorded. I know that there is no journaling but it pretty much speaks for itself in my opinion. I may go back and write on the story of the day on the back of the layout and where we went but I’m not quite sure.
