Traditions

As Christmas time comes near for 2010, we all start bringing out our Holiday traditions. When Michael and I had our first Christmas two years ago, we started making our traditions then. We both had our own growing up but we wanted to make sure that the ones that we created were OURS.

Traditions.

Our traditions started with having a real tree. I have never had a real tree before but Michael always had. We found out this first year that I am VERY allergic to them. Our compromise is to purchase a Leyland Cypress each year which is a great tree for anyone who has allergies, asthma, or pets.

Another tradition that we have started is a stuffed stocking. We each take time to find things to fill one another stockings. This makes for a fun, yet sometimes interesting, Christmas morning.

As part of my family traditions that I brought into our marriage, we get new pajamas on Christmas Eve. I haven’t decided exactly what to get him yet this year but I have a good clue.

So far this is what we have together. I am sure that we will develop more over time and I plan to keep those memories preserved as well.

What do you do to preserve your memories? What traditions do you have that you have brought into your family?

Don’t forget, Tuesday night is our Sketches to the Rescue show on UStream.

Also, the winner for the Shipping Tags from the Black Friday giveaway is Jen Clark! Congrats! Can’t wait to see what you create with your tags!
