Math Workshop in Middle School

7 Reasons to Use Math Workshop in Middle School

As challenging as it must be to incorporate our mathematical standards in each year, it is just as challenging to meet the needs of a classroom full of learners. Differentiating Small Groups

Differentiating Small Groups for Guided Math

For me, Guided Math wasn’t a specific station but rather I pulled from the stations to work with a separate group. This allowed me to constantly differentiate my Guided Math Groups without changing my Math Workshop Rotation Board. I’m all about working smarter and not harder and this truly helped. The tip for this is to pull 1-2 students from each Math Workshop group to allow for the activities to ... View Post

Managing Students While in Small Groups

Managing Students Work while Working with a Small Group

One of the biggest struggles I hear from teachers is managing students while they are working with small groups. How can I make sure that they are on task when I am working with others? For the most part this comes back to setting up those clear rules and expectations in the beginning when you are monitoring rather than running small groups. Reinforce those positive actions by students and ... View Post

Preparing Math Workshop

Preparing Math Workshop in your classroom is going to take some work from you but I know that you can do it. When I decided to implement Math Workshop in my classroom, I knew my schedule was going to be tricky but I was determined to make it work. First things first, you need to know your schedule. How are you going to use this in your classroom? In my school we had 42-45 minutes for each class ... View Post

Saw the doctor via Telehealth yesterday and got my Saw the doctor via Telehealth yesterday and got my official test done today. Hubby had his test done Thursday which has come back positive.

We have had the symptoms of COVID since Monday so this is just to solidify what our symptoms are. Both of us are beyond miserable with aches, pains, sore everything and it just makes it hard to do anything.

We don’t wish this on anyone, EVER! While it’s survivable it is NOT fun while you are going through sore throat, cough, headaches, chills, feeling hot, chest aches, joint pain from head to toe, and then no taste or smell on top.

I don’t share this for sympathy, I share this ask you to please limit your exposure, wear your mask and wash your hands always.

Yep, we are QUARANTINED at home for the next two w Yep, we are QUARANTINED at home for the next two weeks! @billyjochen.bbr was with a family member this weekend who had a positive test come back today. Nothing any of us did wrong but now we are keeping everyone else safe for precautionary reasons.

I did wake up this morning (before we found out) feeling horrible but I’m truly praying for a cold, or heck, I would even take the flu. Doubling up on my vitamins and resting to help fight it off as well as taking Cold meds.

Christmas may not look the same for any of us this year but that doesn’t mean the reason and the spirit isn’t there.

We hope you find a way to celebrate your holiday traditions but also be safe as well.
