Dreamin’ Birthday Card

This weekend I had the pleasure of attending a friend’s 34th Birthday party and I knew that since she is just getting into scrapbooking and card-making, I had to make a handmade card for her! She loves the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridges as well as our Close to My Heart products so I knew that this would be perfect for her!

As you can see, I go through and pre-cut all of my pieces first and ink the edges with Chocolate all at one time. It makes for a quicker assembly of a card. I will go through each step for you below.

To start with I cut a piece of Kraft Cardstock to an A2 size (8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″) and folded it in half. I used my bone folder to make a crisp crease. I then used my Corner Chomper to round the two corners that were facing out on the card. {I originally wanted this card to be vertical but with the layout of stamps it didn’t quite work.}

Before I put down the background piece of Dreamin’ B&T paper, {cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″} I laid down my brown seam binding tape. I then put adhesive all around the top and bottom so that the Dreamin’ B&T would adhere to the card base.

The next piece was to adhere the second piece of Dreamin’ B&T paper {cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″}. After I did that, I placed the orange background from the Dreamin’ Paper Pack {cut at 1 1/2″ x 5″} on top about 2/3 of the way down from the top. I wrapped the seam binding tape around and tied a knot making sure to snip the ends off.

The leaves are stamped with Cocoa from the Cricut Art Philosophy stamps and cut out with the Cricut. I also used the November Stamp of the Month to stamp the September ticket on Kraft Cardstock in Chocolate Ink. I added the 28 in Autumn Terracotta as that was her birthday. I adhered each of these down and then wrote a hand-written sentiment on the inside.

She loved her card and that made it all worthwhile! 🙂
