Last night I got to spend some crafty time with my friend Barbara as our husbands were out and about. Since I had just received my Close To My Heart Art Philosophy Cartridge we KNEW we had to play!
As I have been surfing all the great artwork over the past few weeks, I have seen all the amazing 3D items and knew I had to make some. One of the first things that I created was the Chinese Take Out Box.
I cut the box out at 11″ with Kraft Cardstock and inked all of the edges in black. I then cut out a second box from the Mischief Paper Pack at 10 1/2″. I then cut each of those pieces apart and inked the edges of each as well.
I used the flipped side of the Mischief Paper for the inside of the box flaps to give it a little oomph and extra little bit of color. I also added the strip from the edge of the paper as a border around the top of the box sides. I put adhesive on the entire strip and wrapped on a side and would cut as needed from side to side.
I knew that I wanted to add something to this but I wasn’t sure that I wanted to do Halloween {and I didn’t have my Wicked SOTM with me} so I decided to use one of the stamp sets that comes with the Art Philosophy Collection and use the leaf stamp with Autumn Terracotta Ink on White Daisy Cardstock. I stamped it four times using generational stamping. Generational Stamping consists of inking up your stamp and then stamping it one time with full color and then stamping it again WITHOUT reinking it to make a second generation stamp. I love doing this because it makes my ink pads seem to have multiple tones to them because I can create a lighter shade if I want.
After I stamped the leaves, I adhered them onto the two larger sides of the Take Out Box and used Foam Tape to adhere one of them while I used my ATG to adhere the other. I also went back over the lighter leaf in the swirl with some Liquid Glass to give it a bit extra.
