Each time Close To My Heart releases an Idea Book, they also have a Make It From Your Heart contest for new artwork using each of the new My Reflections designs and any of the Stamps Of the Month for the upcoming six months.
As a new consultant, I decided to jump in and get my feet wet by entering the contest. I decided to do a Level 3 Scrapbook Layout using one of the patterns from a How-To book. This means that I had to create a 2 page layout using one of the new My Reflections paper packs. I had to include accessories and stamping was a MUST! No problem right?
With my consultant kit I got the Typeset Workshop On the Go and some of the coordinating supplies so that was what I decided to use.
This layout is called Trapdoor and is from the Magic How-To book. Since I do not have the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge {yet, it’s on it’s way} I hand-traced and cut out the scalloped circle and scored it to hide the journaling. I am loving how my title turned out after I stamped it on top.
The tags were stamped with Creme Brulee and Juniper Ink using the Vintage Type My Acrylix. I love how they came out and are the perfect little journaling spot. I used the alphabet from the same stamp set and Cocoa Ink to add some little pieces of information about the trip.
The photos are all from a trip that hubby and I took to Chicago in January of 2009. It was the weekend after we got engaged {total fluke} and we had an amazing time. I had never ridden in a horse drawn carriage, much less at night, and so we got to take a nice {and VERY COLD} trip around the lake in Chicago. It was so fun!
Don’t forget, we have started a new month so there is a NEW Stamp of the Month! This one is a MUST have for anyone who decorates for Fall! I am so ready to get my hands on it this week and get to stamping! Look at all these amazing images!
