The Card that Almost Wasn’t…

Last night I set out to work on one of the CPS Anniversary Challenges with the Day #7 sketch. I had just pulled out my stash of My Mind’s Eye Lost and Found Union Square {still have a TON of the original 4 if anyone is looking for any of the papers- just message me at liveteachcreate AT gmail DOT com} this past weekend and wanted to use them for a fancy card.

I used a few different scraps to cut the pieces down that I needed for this card. I also added in a piece of kraft cardstock that I wrapped some Charcoal and Maraschino twine from The Twinery. So yummy!

The title block comes from a sheet of paper in the collection and I simply hand cut it out and then popped it up with foam tape. Once I adhered it down the original background, I used Enamel Accents to go around the edges and then forgot it was still wet when I started applying the Glossy Accents on top of the Glitter to make it stay and not flake all over the place. I totally SMEARED the Black Enamel Accents everywhere across the background. So I had to rip it up and get a new background. I kind of the like the black with text polka dots better anyway! 🙂

I also took a few scraps to decorate the inside so it wasn’t solid black. I think it looks great with the touch of glitter on the inside as well.

Hopefully tonight I won’t have any pitfalls with card making and I can get caught up on some of the sketches I have been slacking on.

I am also going to link this card up to the Just Us Girls Sketch Challenge as it fits in as well. LOVE it when I can do that! 🙂
